Business Description First Marblehead provides outsourcing services for private education lending in the United States. We help meet the growing demand for private education loans by providing national and regional financial institutions and educational institutions, as well as businesses and other enterprises, with an integrated suite of design, implementation and securitization services for student loan programs tailored to meet the needs of their respective customers, students, employees and members. In providing our services, we do not serve as a lender, guarantor or loan servicer, but instead receive fees for the services we provide in connection with processing and securitizing our clients' loans. We focus primarily on loan programs for undergraduate, graduate and professional education, and, to a lesser degree, on the primary and secondary school market. Private education loans are not guaranteed by the U.S. government and are funded by private sector lenders. |
